The Edge: Redskins Vs. Bills
By ZAC BOYER | zboyer@freelancestar.com | @ZacBoyer
Redskins Run Offense vs. Bills Run Defense: The loss of Tim Hightower is huge for the Redskins, but head coach Mike Shanahan has always taken a running-back-by-committee approach anyway. Ryan Torain and Roy Helu should do just fine. The Bills must make do without injured Shawne Merriman. Edge: Redskins
Redskins Pass Offense vs. Bills Pass Defense: Buffalo hasn’t played well in pass defense this season, but the loss of Santana Moss and Hightower in pass protection helps the Bills. The revamped Redskins offensive line will have their hands full repelling the rush rookie defensive end Marcel Darius. Edge: Bills
Bills Run Offense vs. Redskins Run Defense: Year after year, Fred Jackson has proved he’s a durable back who can pick up yards. And if he’s not having a good game, the Bills can always turn to C.J. Spiller. The Redskins’ run defense struggled last week, but quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick doesn’t scramble. Edge: Bills
Bills Pass Offense vs. Redskins Pass Defense: The Washington secondary could be missing DeAngelo Hall and Oshiomogho Atogwe today. Stevie Johnson improves with each game, the Bills’ running backs are good receivers and Fitzpatrick has already had his way with several strong defensive teams this season. Edge: Bills
