Report: Redskins to host WR Andre Davis
The Redskins are making the most of the last few days before the the collective bargaining agreement expires. This morning they are hosting former Houston Texans and Virginia Tech wide receiver/kick returner Andre Davis, according to a FOX 26 TV report out of Houston.
Davis, 31, missed all of 2010 due to a hip injury, but he and Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan worked together with the Texans.
In eight NFL seasons, Davis has 156 catches for 2,470 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also has returned four kickoffs for touchdowns.
Because Davis was released earlier this offseason, the Redskins could sign him at any time before the CBA expires Thursday night. The same applies to former St. Louis safety Oshiomogho Atogwe, about whom head coach Mike Shanahan spoke highly at the NFL Scouting Combine last week.
Free agent defensive tackle Shaun Rogers, who the Redskins also hosted last month, signed a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday.
