Haynesworth rips the Redskins; the full Q&A
Another preseason game, another Haynesworth interview worth a full Q&A transcription. He accused the team of misrepresenting his diagnosis this week and said he’s still being punished for missing the offseason program. The session lasted about 90 seconds before a Redskins PR rep shut it down.
Q: How did you feel it went out there?
A: “It felt good going out in the THIRD quarter.”
Q: What happened this week. What were you told about your diagnosis?
A: “I don’t know. I got told I had ‘headaches,’ or whatever. That’s why I couldn’t go out and practice. I think it was a little bit more than that. I guess they didn’t want to disclose it.”
Q: What was it a little bit more?
A: “You have to ask them, but I guess they’ll tell you ‘headaches’ again.”
Q: So you didn’t have any headaches?
A: “That was part of it, but it wasn’t all of it. I mean, they left out a whole lot of stuff.”
Q: What other symptoms were there?
A: “You have to ask him.”
Q: Why would they do that, though?
A: “I don’t know. I guess to make themselves look good. Make me look bad for not going to their offseason conditioning program. But, I mean, next year I’m not comin’ either. So I’ll be with my trainer again and I’ll get back in the same shape I am and feel good about myself.”
Q: You think that’s still being held against you still?
A: “Oh yeah, I think so. It’s alright. I’m a football player, and I know I can still play the game. As long as I get this defense down I’ll be alright.”
Q: How do you feel about your time in there tonight?
A: “Uh, it was alright. Third quarter, though. I’m a ninth-year pro. I think I shouldn’t have been out there in the third quarter, but, for having ‘headaches’ again, that’s what they wanted me to do.”
…my thoughts? If Haynesworth wants to make the details of his condition known, he should talk to us reporters. We’re out there every day hoping to talk to him, and he continues to no-comment us during the week.
Your thoughts are already rolling in on Twitter, and I can tell that most of you blame Haynesworth. Keep your opinions coming. I love to hear them.
