Redskins complete their draft with two OL and a KR
The Redskins completed their draft by selecting UCLA WR/KR Terrence Austin, New Mexico center Erik Cook and West Virginia tackle Selvish Capers.
Austin was second team all-Pac 10 as a kick returner. I’ve read that he has sub-4.4 speed in the 40. That addresses a need.
Cook is quite big (6-6, 318 pounds) for a center and probably projects better to the guard position.
Capers played the last two seasons at right tackle. Both he and Cook will provide the competition that Mike Shanahan has so frequently referenced early in his tenure.
And with the Redskins’ out of picks, their six-player draft class is:
Round 1 (No. 4) Trent Williams, OT, 6-5, 315, Oklahoma
Round 4 (No. 103) Perry Riley, LB, 6-1, 239, Louisiana State
Round 6 (No. 174) Dennis Morris, TE/FB, 6-2, 265, Louisiana Tech
Round 7 (No. 219) Terrence Austin, WR/KR, 5-11, 172, UCLA
Round 7 (No. 229) Erik Cook, C/G, 6-6, 318, New Mexico
Round 7 (No. 231) Selvish Capers, OT, 6-5, 304, West Virginia
…How do you feel about the draft class?
