Friday quick hits
I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving and that the leftovers are plentiful. I’m about to eat some, myself. But first, what you need to know from Redskins Park today:
*CB Carlos Rogers will start in place of DeAngelo Hall against Philly on Sunday. Hall will miss the game because of a sprained knee. Kareem Moore will be the Redskins fourth cornerback in their ‘dime’ package.
*DT Albert Haynesworth is once again a game-time decision. He did not practice at all this week. I asked him for an update on his sprained ankle, but he wouldn’t give me one. My gut feeling, for as little as it’s worth, is that he won’t play.
*FB Mike Sellers tweaked his hamstring during practice, and he sat out the rest as a precaution. Coach Jim Zorn believes Sellers will be OK to play on Sunday.
*LB H.B. Blades (knee) and TE Todd Yoder (toe) are expected to be available against the Eagles.
*WR Devin Thomas says he’ll handle all kickoff returns on Sunday because Rock Cartwright is the starting running back. Cartwright, however, will play some on special teams.
*The University of Memphis’ football season is scheduled to wrap up today. Secondary coach Jerry Gray was asked whether he’s certain he’ll be on the Redskins’ sideline on Sunday. "I hope so," he said.
*As I posted a few minutes ago, the Redskins didn’t mark the second anniversary of Sean Taylor’s death as a team, but several players did so individually.
