Scenes from the surgery center groundbreaking

The physicians who are part owners of the Surgi-Center took part in yesterday’s groundbreaking. They are, from left, Montgomery Johns, Geoff Sloan, Michael O’Brien, Renick Smith, Ross Girvan and Thomas Falkenberg.

The Surgi-Center of Central Virginia will be moving next year from Stafford County to new quarters in the city. The 40,000 square-foot building will include physician offices and will be located beside the city pool on Dixon Street. Groundbreaking took place yesterday. Construction is expected to begin next month. About a dozen local surgeons do their procedures at the center. For more about the groundbreaking and the center, see the story here in today’s paper.

Michael Adams, president of Jon Properties, spoke at yesterday’s groundbreaking. Adams is developer of the project and managing member of GFA Holdings, the owner of the building.
