Site plan for new Spotsylvania hospital
Road crews have been busy on two sides of the new Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center parcel. If all goes as planned, both projects will be completed by May, the scheduled opening of the new hospital.
This site plan, courtesy of Tim Tobin, chief executive of the hospital, shows how Hospital Drive and the Spotsylvania Parkway will meet just northeast of the hospital building, pictured.
One construction crew is extending the Spotsylvania Parkway across Interstate 95. The parkway will intersect with the main entrance of the hospital. Another road crew is working where Hospital Drive intersects U.S. 17. Hospital Drive will eventually run beside the hospital and provide access to the emergency department.
Also represented on the site plan are the wetlands and 100-foot wooded buffer on the southern and eastern sides of the 75-acre parcel.
