Drool in the Pool set for Sept. 6

UPDATE: Stafford County Parks has provided additional information on the Sept. 6 Drool in the Pool event.

  • People need to bring a minimum donation of a 3.5 pound bag of dog food to take part.
  • They also must bring written proof of their dog’s rabies vaccination from their veterinarian. Dogs will not be allowed into the pool area without the documentation.
  • Dogs under 6 months of age or in heat are not allowed to participate.


This year’s Drool in the Pool event will take place on Sept. 6 at  Curtis Park in the Hartwood area of Stafford County.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to noon and includes paddle races, dog swimsuits styling, bobbing for tennis balls and pet vendors displays.

Pre-registration is required and costs $5 per dog plus a minimum donation of dog food is required.

Vendors are still being sought for Drool in the Pool. Cost is $10 to set up a display and each vendor must donate at least one door prize. Pre-registration is required. Email for a vendor form.
