Saturday dog attack in Spotsy echoes earlier case

Another dog attack has been reported in Spotsylvania County of a small white dog by what authorities are calling a pit bull.

The dog in Saturday’s incident on Leavells Crossing Drive had survived as of yesterday.

On Jan. 12, a Maltese – a toy breed known for its silky white hair – was killed by a pit bull in the Lancaster Gate subdivision.

On Friday, the Lancaster Gate dog was declared dangerous by a Spotsylvania County judge but was allowed to be released to its owner.

The Lancaster Gate pit bull should have been put down. Released to its owner? To attack again? Place your bets.
