Ferry Farm’s Alternative 4 Seems Popular
Wednesday’s open house at Ferry Farm saw dozens of visitors drop by the visitor center of George Washington’s boyhood home in Stafford County to learn more about what the place may look like in another few years.
Included with this very brief post is one possibility being considered by The George Washington Foundation, steward of the national historic landmark–one of the Fredericksburg area’s few such sites, among the nation’s most treasured.
Alternative 4, as the conceptual plan is called, proposes the most intensive alteration to the 105-acre tract.
Yet it appeared to be the option favored by most visitors who offered comments during the open house, to judge by this reporter’s too-short visit.
I’ll have a full description of this plan later today, along with information on the other plans. Much thought has been put into each one, and there are lots of signifiicant details.
But first, some sleep is required. My apologies to this blog’s readers.
