Archaeologists document and prepare the cellar of ‘Building X,’ beside Fredericksburg City Hall, for overhead photography from a boom truck. The antebellum house, owned by a former mayor, burned during the Civil War–probably during the Battle of Fredericksburg in December 1862.
Today’s drive-time news broadcast by WJLA, Washington’s ABC station, aired segment on archaeological excavations at the Fredericksburg’s future courthouse tract and the site of Francis H. Bell’s stoneware pottery.
The Channel 7 news team interviewed Councilman Matt Kelly, among others.
