Just Out: An iPhone App for James Madison’s Montpelier

The fine folks at Montpelier, the National Trust for Historic Preservation site in Orange County, send this word today:

Available in the Apple App Store NOW

Beginning today you can download the hottest new mobile app, free for a limited time, from the Apple App Store. “The James Madison’sMontpelier Tour App” offers in-person visitors and virtual visitors an in-depth view of Montpelier, the place where James Madison envisioned the Constitution 225 years ago.

Get detailed information about objects in the Montpelier mansion, check out the interactive estate map, visit the Landmark Forest and Gilmore Farm, plan your trip and more. Also, the app features a video greeting from James and Dolley and videos of evolution of the Montpelier mansion.

Montpelier will release an Android version of the app later this year. The Montpelier Visitor Center will have iPods available for visitors who do not own iOS devices.

Compatible iOS devices can download The James Madison’s Montpelier Tour App.
