RACER hosts visit to old GM plant
Bill Freehling, business writer with The Free Lance-Star, reports that the RACER Trust hosted local officials today at the former GM Powertrain factory in Spotsylvania County to help market the property.
The RACER tract is the critical part of the Fredericksburg battlefield, historians say.
It is where Union Gen. George Gordon Meade’s forces broke through “Stonewall” Jackson’s defenses before being repulsed. That outcome decided the Dec. 13, 1982, battle.
