Shuttle buses Sunday at ‘Battles of Spotsylvania’ re-enactment
Heed this if, like me, you’re going to Sunday’s Battles of Spotsylvania Re-enactment at Spotsylvania Courthouse.
The county says:
Due to the amount of rainfall received in the area over the last week, Sunday parking for the event will now be located at Courtland High School, 6701 Smith Station Road, Spotsylvania, VA 22553. The county will have free shuttles available on Sunday, May 22nd, from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., to take visitors to the event site.
The county can accommodate parking for the Saturday evening “Civil War Under the Stars” event at the Spotsylvania Courthouse Village, 9019 Old Battlefield Boulevard, Spotsylvania, VA 22553.
Please be aware that at the event site’s “field conditions” will prevail. Because of recent heavy rains, visitors may encounter wet or muddy spots as well as briars and ruts. Sturdy, waterproof footwear is suggested, rather than sandals or flip-flops.
If you have any questions about the Reenactment, visit: http://www.spotsylvania.org/2011.htm. Or, call the Department of Economic Development & Tourism at 540-507-7210.
