Daniel Center history lectures canceled
The remainder of the lecture series “18th & 19th Century Stories of the North-Central Piedmont of Virginia” has been canceled.
Orange County historian Frank S. Walker Jr. was speaking at the Daniel Technology Center of Germanna Community College in Culpeper County.
Walker delivered the series’ first lecture on Oct. 9 at Germanna Community College’s Locust Grove campus in Orange County, for the college’s 40th anniversary. His topic was “Germanna, Orange County & Westward Expansion.” The college’s original campus is near the site of a 1714 colony of German settlers, and its acreage along the Rapidan was a gift to Virginia from their descendants.
