Sarvis to run ad during gubernatorial debate

One candidate won’t be at tonight’s gubernatorial debate.

That’s Libertarian Robert Sarvis, who wasn’t invited.

But if you watch the debate on TV — at least, on NBC4 in Northern Virginia — you might see him anyway — Sarvis is debuting his first TV ad during the debate tonight.

In the ad, Sarvis says he doesn’t want to vote for either Democrat Terry McAuliffe or Republican Ken Cuccinelli.

“Like you, I can’t vote for Ken Cuccinelli’s narrow-minded social agenda,” Sarvis says in the ad. “I want a Virginia that’s open-minded, and welcoming to all. And like you, I don’t want Terry McAuliffe’s ‘cronyism,’ either, where government picks winners and losers.”

The debate will air live from 7-8 p.m. tonight on NBC affiliates in Northern Virginia, Richmond and some other areas of the state.
