1st District debate cancelled for storm

A debate between the 1st congressional district candidates, scheduled for Monday night at the University of Mary Washington, has been cancelled because of the coming hurricane.

Rep. Rob Wittman, R-Montross, Democrat Adam Cook and independent Gail Parker had been scheduled to debate at UMW as the second of two debates in this campaign. The three debated a few weeks ago in Newport News.

Scheduling debates between busy candidates is difficult, much less trying to reschedule one a week before the election, so there’s no word for now on whether the debate will be rescheduled.
