McDonnell endorses Ransone in 99th
Gov. Bob McDonnell has officially endorsed Republican House candidate Margaret Ransone in the 99th House District.
In a news release, McDonnell called Ransone — who works with her family’s Bevans Oyster Co. — a “strong conservative business leader” who would support legislation to encourage job growth.
“Margaret is the only candidate in this race with experience creating jobs in the private sector, and it’s crucial that we have someone of her ability and background representing the 99th District in Richmond,” McDonnell said.
He also said Ransone understands the 99th District’s dependence on natural resources
McDonnell’s Opportunity Virginia PAC gave Ransone’s campaign $10,000 back in August, according to campaign finance reports at the Virginia Public Access Project.
Ransone faces Democrat Nick Smith in next month’s election. The 99th covers all of the Northern Neck and part of Caroline County.
