BEACH RESCUE BUILDING PROBLEMS AN ISSUE
The Colonial Beach Town Council held an emergency meeting Monday to address problems with renovations to the town rescue squad building. The project is on hold because the contractor did not obtain
a permit to do extensive work on the building in a flood-prone area in the Potomac River town.
Town building official Dexter Monroe and Steve Cirbee, owner of Trinity Building Co. LLC, have agreed to discuss the matter by Wednesday and determine whether the work can be done without raising the entire building.
The rescue squad will continue to work out of the station’s garage for now.
