A woman who was found lying half naked in the middle of a Fredericksburg street early Thursday was charged with multiple offenses, including attacking two responding officers, police said.

Office Abe Lasco was on Altoona Drive near State Route 3 about 2:15 a.m. when he saw a woman in the road with her shirt and bra around her waist. City police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said Lasco stopped because he thought the woman was in trouble, but she immediately became combative and was clearly incoherent and under the influence of something.

Bledsoe said police believe the woman had consumed a combination of marijuana, PCP and cocaine.

Officer Nick Wagner and others came to assist Lasco, but couldn’t calm the woman down. During the incident she kicked, bit, scratched and hit Wagner and Lasco, police said. She also tried to kick out the windows of a police cruiser.

The woman was taken to the Rappahannock Regional Jail, but the jail initially wouldn’t accept her after she passed out. She was then taken to nearby Stafford Hospital, where she assaulted a nurse, Bledsoe said.

The woman was eventually returned to the jail, where she was placed under no bond.
