Stafford party host faces sexual assault charges
A Stafford County man was arrested Tuesday after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman at his home last month, police said.
Kraig Scott Sullivan, 46, of 114 Little Whim Road in southern Stafford is charged with object sexual penetration and forcible sodomy. He is being held without bond in the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Bill Kennedy said the assault took place early July 16.
There had been a party at the Sullivan home in the White Oak area that night, Kennedy said. The woman told the investigator that she decided to stay there because she was too impaired to drive home.
The 30-year-old woman reported the incident to the Sheriff’s Office on July 21 and Detective T.A. Covington began an investigation that resulted in Sullivan’s charges.
Sullivan appeared in Stafford General District Court for an arraignment Wednesday. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 10.
Both charges carry potential jail sentences ranging from five years to life in prison.
