Gunshots fired into Spotswood homes
Spotsylvania County authorities are investigating a possible shooting at two homes in Spotswood Estates off Lafayette Boulevard.
Deputies responded to the 500 block of Butternut Drive at 6:30 a.m. Sunday to find a home with several bullet holes, said Capt. Jeff Pearce of the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office.
The residents said they woke up to find the damage that they believe occurred sometime during the night, but they did not hear anything, Pearce said.
He said it appears that four shots struck the dwelling, breaking one window and leaving several holes in the side of the house.
About 15 minutes after the first report, nearby residents in that same block called police to say that they found several bullet holes at their house.
They also told police that they didn’t hear gunfire.
No one was injured, Pearce said, and the cases are under investigation.
There are no suspects at this time, he said.
