A 9-year-old Stafford County boy reportedly was approached Tuesday afternoon by a man and woman in a pickup truck and told to get in, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies went to the Vista Woods subdivision in North Stafford at 1 p.m. after receiving a report of the incident, said sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

The boy told deputies that he was standing with his bike along Vista Woods Road when a black Toyota pickup truck pulled up. The boy said the man, who was driving, told him to get in the truck.

The boy said he got on his bike and rode through a yard to his home.

The boy said the truck had a dent in the front bumper.

He said the man was white, about 30 years old and had brownish-black hair and a reddish-brown beard. The man was wearing an orange shirt.

A woman and child were also in the truck, the boy said. She was in the front passenger seat, and the child was in the back of the cab.

He said the woman was black, about 30 years old with long black hair and wearing a dress.

He could not describe the child.

Deputies searched the area, but did not find the truck, Kennedy said.
