New lane markings painted on Route 3
New lane markings have been painted on State Route 3 at Spotsylvania County’s Harrison Crossing, fixing a confusing configuration that required a lane change for westbound traffic.
The Virginia Department of Transportation announced the change Tuesday.
The new markings were made between Gordon and Harrison roads.
The previous configuration forced westbound traffic in the left lane to move to the right at the Harrison Road intersection because the lane became a left-turn only at the traffic light.
The change will allow left-lane traffic to continue west on Route 3.
