Spotsylvania family displaced by fire
A residential fire Tuesday night left some Spotsylvania County residents displaced.
The fire occurred just after 9 p.m. on Mockingbird Lane, said Joe Sposa, division chief of Spotsylvania Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management.
The occupants of the house were there, but there were no injuries.
He said the fire started in the lower level of the house and was under control within 15 minutes of the first units arriving on the scene.
The room where the fire originated and the area just outside of it were heavily damaged and the rest of the house was damaged from smoke and heat, he said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Sposa said.
He said the family is displaced and the Red Cross has been able to help.
