Ashland man killed in Stafford accident
A 28-year-old man from Ashland died on Saturday as a result of a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 1 near Centreport Parkway in Stafford County, Virginia State Police Sgt. F.L. Tyler said.
Dawyan Tyran Coleman was transported to Mary Washington Hospital after the 4:17 p.m. accident and died about 4:58 p.m., Tyler said.
Coleman was driving a 2005 Ford sedan southbound on U.S. 1 and attempted to make a left turn at Centreport Parkway in front of a 2014 Dodge pickup, Tyler said.
The pickup was pulling a trailer carrying a boat and traveling north on U.S. 1, Tyler said.
No charges will be brought in the accident and no one in the pickup was injured, Tyler said.
The accident was investigated by trooper R. Pinkard Jr. and personnel with the Stafford Sheriff’s Office and emergency medical services assisted, Tyler said.
