Former employee charged in Walmart thefts
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Bill Kennedy said Deputy Kevin Lytle went to the Walmart on Garrisonville Road about 8:30 Thursday morning after workers found multiple empty packages of videos and cameras in the lawn and garden section of the store.
Store security checked surveillance tapes and noticed four people enter the store about 2 a.m. They were seen purchasing a few inexpensive items but walking out with many other items that had not been paid for.
Store personnel recognized one of the suspects as Kevin Ernesto Garcia, 22, of Stafford County, a former employee at the store.
Two of the other suspects are relatives of Garcia and live with him on Noble Court in the England Run area of southern Stafford, Kennedy said.
Lytle went to the Noble Court residence and saw a small child in an upstairs window. After getting no answer for about 20 minutes to repeated knocks on the door, deputies became concerned that the child might be unattended and went in to check.
Two of the suspects were in the home, and the other two showed up while the investigation was in progress.
Kevin Garcia, Cristian Alexis Garcia, 25, and Orlando Neftali Garcia, all of the home, and 22-year-old Brittani Renee Bush of Woodbridge were all charged with felony shoplifting and conspiracy.
All four were taken to the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
Kennedy said Kevin Garcia was already wanted on another shoplifting charge. A search warrant was obtained for the Noble Court residence and items linking the suspects to the Walmart thefts were recovered.
