Benefit planned for Josh Hardy Sunday

Round Oak Baptist Church in Woodford will hold a gospel benefit for the family of Josh Hardy.

IFThe benefit will feature Madison Creek, David Palmer and Mike Milstead.

It will be Sunday at 6 p.m. at the church, 15025 Pepmeier Hill Road in Woodford.

A flier from the church says, “We all have heard about Josh Hardy and his fight against cancer at St. Jude’s Hospital. We ‘Praise God’ that he finally received the special medicine he needed to recover and beat cancer. Because of the severity of his illness his complete family has been with him, so we hope this Love Offering will help with the many expenses they are accruing.

A dessert fellowship will follow the music.

Josh, 8, was at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for 100 days of inpatient care.

The Hugh Mercer Elementary School student drew national attention in his family’s fight for an experimental drug in March.

Josh, a cancer survivor, went to St. Jude for a bone-marrow transplant at the beginning of the year but developed a virus.
