Two people were shot Tuesday evening in a King George County neighborhood.
One man died at the scene, according to King George Fire and Rescue Chief David Moody.
Sheriff Steve Dempsey said the other victim also is a male, but he was not sure of his age. That victim was taken to Mary Washington Hospital. The extent of his injuries were not clear Tuesday night.
The shooting happened shortly after 7 p.m. in Winston Place, off of Comorn Road.
Dempsey said officers found the victims outside a home in the small neighborhood.
The victims’ family was home when the shooting happened, but it appears no one saw what happened, the sheriff said.
The investigation was continuing overnight.
