Spotsy probes sales of alcohol to minors
Clerks at three Spotsylvania County businesses were charged with selling alcohol to minors during an investigation into underaged alcohol purchases, police said.
Spotsylvania deputies and Virginia ABC officers conducted an operation that had sheriff’s office cadets, ages 17 to 19, visit establishments in the county to see if the person could buy alcohol without proper identification, police said.
Of the 61 stores visited, three sold alcohol to the juveniles, police said.
Charged with selling alchol to juveniles were clerks at Twinbow Market on 9800 Courthouse Road, Aldi Food Store on Jefferson Davis Highway and the 7–Eleven on Gordon Road.
The charge is a misdemeanor.
