Culpeper police say forensic evidence has linked a 48-year-old Culpeper woman to at least two winter burglaries and they believe further tests will link her to two more.

Joanna Lee Hawkins was arrested and charged with the Dec. 13, 2013, burglary of Culpeper Cleaners on North Main Street and the January 2014 burglaries at Z’s Nu Look, Deema’s Restaurant and the Culpeper Regional Hospital Thrift Store, all in the Meadowbrook Shopping Center, according to town public information officer Wally Bunker.

Detectives Sgt. Jeff Dodson, Brittany Jenkins, Luke Altman and Richard Brooking, along with numerous patrol officers, assisted in the investigation of the four business burglaries, Bunker said.

The investigation is continuing.
