Winter Storm Watch issued for Fredericksburg region

UPDATE: Real potential for a ‘high-impact’ weather event


The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Fredericksburg region from late Sunday night through Monday afternoon.

Freezing rain, sleet and snow are all expected.

The NWS says there is the potential for freezing rain, followed by 5 or more inches of snow.

Freezing rain and sleet are expected to begin overnight Sunday with snow – heavy at times – late overnight Sunday through Monday.

Temperatures are expected to be in the low 30s overnight on Sunday, falling into the mid- to upper-20s for Monday.
