Westmoreland crash claims woman’s life
An investigation is underway after a Hague woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Westmoreland County over the weekend.
According to Virginia State Police Sgt. Thomas Molnar, troopers responded to the scene on Cople Highway, or State Route 202, just west of State Route 611 (Zion Church Road), in Westmoreland shortly after 8 p.m.
Molnar said a 1999 Dodge Ram Truck collided with a 1990 Subaru Legacy.
The driver of the Subaru, 79-year-old Barbara W. Haught, died at the scene, he said. She was wearing a seat belt.
The 48-year-old driver of the Dodge, who was not wearing a seat belt, was flown to Mary Washington Hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries.
The roadway was closed for approximately four hours while state police investigated.
No charges have been filed and the crash is still under investigation.
