VDOT mobilizes for overnight snow, freezing rain around Fredericksburg

FREDERICKSBURG – Overnight snow showers and freezing rain is in the forecast for the Fredericksburg area and portions of the Northern Neck, and travelers should be advised that the precipitation may affect road conditions.

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews are mobilizing this evening in the Fredericksburg area and western counties of the Northern Neck to clear roads and apply chemicals as needed. Between a half-inch and 1.5 inches of snow accumulation are expected.

In the Middle Peninsula, VDOT crews will be patrolling overnight to respond to hazardous road conditions as needed.
