Westmoreland high school principal facing charges
A Westmoreland County high school principal is facing misdemeanor driving charges, including driving while intoxicated.
According to Westmoreland County Sheriff C.O. Balderson, deputies responded to a call around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday from a passerby who reported that a car was either stuck or had been in an accident.
When deputies arrived at the scene and investigated, they placed charges against the driver.
Andrea Michelle Roane, principal of Washington & Lee High School in Montross, is charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and use of a handheld device while driving. It was unclear Saturday if that charge was related to texting while driving, Balderson said.
Roane is scheduled to appear on Tuesday in Westmoreland General District Court.
