Motel patron suffers head injury in Fredericksburg stabbing
A 28-year-old man was placed in intensive care Sunday night after he was stabbed numerous times at a Fredericksburg motel, police said.
City police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said officers went to the Relax Inn about 9:40 p.m., in response to a reported fight. They found the victim inside one of the rooms with multiple stab wounds in his back and a head injury.
The victim, who was conscious, was taken by ambulance to Mary Washington Hospital and treated in the intensive care unit, Bledsoe said.
She said the victim’s girl friend reported that she was in the room at the Princess Anne Street motel with the victim when they heard a noise outside. The victim opened the door, which leads outside, and was immediately attacked by a black male with dreadlocks and a black hoodie, the woman said.
A second black male was standing close by watching the attack, according to the story. The victim eventually got away and made it back into the room. The girlfriend said they didn’t know either man and had no idea what prompted the attack.
