Woman sought in local credit-card theft
By KEITH EPPS
Stafford County authorities are asking for help solving a theft that occurred in the county on Saturday afternoon.
A woman shopping in the Giant at 317 Worth Ave. noticed that her credit card was missing from her purse. She immediately had a family member cancel the card, but the family member was informed that the card had just been used at the Best Buy in the same shopping center, police spokesman Bill Kennedy said.
Deputy Vincent Jones learned that a woman had used the card to purchase a computer and gift card. The woman had also used a Best Buy rewards card that had been stolen from a woman in Falls Church the previous day.
The woman was described as black, 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 10 inches tall and between 180 and 200 pounds. She was wearing a green coat, a red scarf and a hat.
Kennedy said he was not sure if the Best Buy transactions were captured on store surveillance cameras.
