Second teen charged in Culpeper burglary
A second 17-year-old youth has been charged in connection with the Tobacco Road tobacco products store burglary that occurred Dec. 23 in the Southgate Shopping Center.
Juvenile petitions alleging felony burglary, felony grand larceny, possession of marijuana and possession of tobacco were served on the suspect Thursday, according to Capt. Chris Settle of the Culpeper police.
Last Friday, police also charged another 17-year-old in connection with the burglary. Citizen tips aided the investigation, Settle said.
“It is with the community efforts of providing tips to the law enforcement that has provided the Police Department with new suspects and we thank the community for this,” said Chief Chris Jenkins.
