Stafford investigating possible ammonia leak
Stafford County fire and rescue department units investigated a possible ammonia leak at the Abel Lake Water Treatment Facility Thursday night.
The leak was reported by employees at the facility around 9 p.m. and was contained to the building.
Hazmat crews were called in to investigate the leak during the night.
According to assistant fire chief Mark Doyle, there is no immediate danger to those living in the area of the plant.
Water service and the quality of the water are not impacted by the possible leak.
