Spotsylvania Crime Solvers

Spotsylvania County Crime Solvers is seeking information on the following crimes:

  • Between 7 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 10, someone stole more than $4,000 in currency and coins, and a United States quarters book from a locked room in a residence in the 10600 block of Catharpin Road. The victim has two suspects. CFS 13-120325
  • Between 5:25 and 5:35 a.m. on Nov. 9, someone attempted to enter a residence in the 12100 block of Saw Hill Boulevard through the garage, but was scared away when the house alarm was activated. The culprit used the victim’s garage door opener to enter the garage. The door opener was taken from the victim’s vehicle, parked in the driveway. The suspect took the door opener when he left. Nothing else was noted missing. CFS 13-119638
  • On 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 10, someone stole an employee’s Redskins wallet containing $253 and a Social Security card at Greenfield Assisted Living in the 9300 block of Onyx Court. The wallet is red and large and is valued at $25. CFS 13-120124
  • Between 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 6 and 6 a.m. on Nov. 7, someone cut
  • a chain and stole an older black generator that was chained to a pole in the 7100 block of Harrison Road. It is valued at $1,500. CFS 13-118858
  • Between 4 and 6 p.m. on Nov. 10, someone stole an Apple iPhone 5, with a pink and purple Otter Box case, from the seat of an unlocked black 2000 Ford Mustang parked at McDonald’s, 3102 Plank Road. The phone is valued at $250. CFS 13-120382
  • Between 11:15 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 10, someone broke the right-door window of a gold color 2003 Peterbilt tractor parked at the Massaponax Hunt Club on Massaponax Church Road and stole a Stroker 460 citizens band radio, installed with super tunes and a static microphone. It is valued at $550. CFS 13-120085
  • Between 10 p.m. on Nov. 7 and 5:10 a.m. on Nov. 8, someone entered a locked 2006 Chrysler in the 7900 block of Elmwood Lane and took one Canon 60D camera valued at $1,500, a Canon lens valued at $300, a Canon 540 Speed Light flash unit valued at $200, and a black Canon camera bag valued at $50. These items are owned by the victim’s employer. Other items owned by the victim that were taken include a Canon Rebel T1 camera valued at $200, a black Canon camera bag valued at $50 and a press pass valued at $5. CFS 13-119155
  • Between 12:01 a.m. on Nov. 7 and 3 p.m. on Nov. 9, someone entered an unlocked 2004 Toyota Camry 4-door sedan in the 8000 block of Bridgewood Court and stole a bowling ball, a bowling bag, bowling shoes and a bowling glove. The items are valued at $300. CFS 13-1197770
  • Between 5 p.m. on Nov. 5 and 5 p.m. on Nov. 6, someone entered an unlocked 1991 Chevrolet Lumina in the 5700 block of Castlebridge Road and stole 108 Hydrocodone pills from the glove box. Value of the medication is $540. CFS 13-118645
  • Between 12:21 and 12:38 p.m. on Nov. 10, a black male and a black female entered Marshall’s, 9779 Jefferson Davis Highway. The 6-foot-four-inch thin male, in his early 20s, with an Afro, picked six purses valued at $1,100, and carried them around the store. The female took a purse and was walking out of the store when the security alarm sounded. She dropped the purse and exited the store. A few minutes later the male exited the store with the six purses. They left the scene in a silver four-door vehicle. A plate number was recorded. Investigation continues. CFS 13-120086
  • Between 7:45 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Nov. 7, someone stole an Apple iPhone 4s from a baby stroller outside Macy’s, 3102 Plank Road. The victim was holding the infant and was facing away from the stroller when the phone was taken. The phone is valued at $250. CFS 13-119481
  • Between 7 p.m. on Nov. 7 and 9 a.m. on Nov. 8, someone stole a Dumpster lid from the rear of the Poco Loco Mexican Restaurant, 5414 Mudd Tavern Road. The lid is new and was delivered on the 7th. It is valued at $450. CFS 13-120055
  • Between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 7, someone removed an electric meter and cover in the 6100 block of Hams Ford Road and stole electricity by using two door hinges on the meter to draw the electricity. The house has not used electricity for nearly a year. Value of the meter and cover is $350. CFS 13-118951
  • Between 10 p.m. on Nov. 8 and 7 a.m. on Nov. 9, it was noticed that a screen is missing from a window of a house in the 7900 block of Eland Drive and the resident thinks that someone may have attempted to break in. Cost to replace the screen is $15. CFS 13-119699
  • Between 11 p.m. on Nov. 7 and 7 a.m. on Nov. 8, someone entered an unlocked 2011 Chevrolet Equinox in the 5700 block of Falls Way Court and stole three wallets belonging to family members. One wallet contained the victim’s credit card, Social Security card and $20. The next victim’s wallet contained personal papers and two credit cards. The third victim’s wallet contained three credit cards. The three wallets are valued at $35. CFS 13-119208
  • Between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 10, someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked at CVS, 10805 Tidewater Trail and took four non-narcotic prescription medications from the front passenger seat. They are 30 pills of Paxil, 30 pills of Lisinopril, 60 pills of Zanax, and 30 pills of Niacin. Total value of the medications is $80. CFS 13-120095
  • Between 4 a.m. on Nov. 7 and 3:59 p.m. on Nov. 8, someone stole a Microsoft MP3 player from an unlocked silver Honda Civic while it was parked in a driveway in the 10700 block of Peach Tree Drive. The player is valued at $60. CFS 13-119398
  • Between 12:01 and 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 7, someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the 11700 block of Kennedy Lane and stole $40 in cash from a wallet and about $20 in change. The contents of the wallet were scattered inside the vehicle. CFS 13-118814
  • Between 5 and 6 p.m. on Nov. 11, a young male entered Walmart, 10001 Southpoint Parkway, and took three containers of Delsym cough syrup, removed them from their containers, then placed one container in his pants pocket. As the loss prevention agents approached him, he ran out to the parking lot. Two of the three bottles were recovered and the suspect got away. Value of the loss is $35.76. Suspect is a white male between 18 to 25 years, 5 feet 10 to 6 feet, weighing between 150 and 170 pounds. CFS 13-120473
  • Between 9:12 and 9:15 p.m. on Nov. 9, a male ordered two cartons of cigarettes and a lighter at Fas-Mart, 11517 Tidewater Trail, then wanted to pay by check. The check did not appear valid so the clerk refused. The male said he would pay with a credit card then asked the clerk for a can of tobacco. While the clerk went for the tobacco, the male grabbed the bag and ran out of the store owing $100.27. The suspect is a black male, 5 feet 9 and 180 pounds with black hair and a defined goatee.   • At 8:01 on Nov. 8, loss prevention officers at Belk, 3102 Plank Road, observed a couple act suspiciously, and saw the female carrying merchandise to a dressing room, then saw the male carry the female’s purse and placing objects in it while walking to the dressing room. The suspects left the dressing room and walked out with the bulging purse. Amount of loss is $103.97. CFS 13-119496
  • Between 4:50 and 5:10 on Nov. 12, two white males entered the Fiesta Super Market, 104 Greenwich Drive, together and one made purchases. As he was exiting, the second male grabbed a container containing 21 packs of cigarettes and walked out behind the other male. The victim went after them and they ran away. The person who took the cigarettes is 18 to 24 years, wearing a gray hoodie, camouflage cargo pants and dark shoes. The male customer is 20 to 26 years old, wearing a blue cap, black jacket, black pants and had three rings on his upper lip. Cost of the cigarettes is $20.79. CFS 13-120793
  • Between 12:01 on Nov. 9 and 7 a.m. on Nov. 10, someone removed mail from seven mailboxes in the 12800 block of Plantation Drive and scattered it along the street and a nearby ditch. The mail was collected and returned to the addresses. CFS 13-120001
  • Between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Nov. 6, someone used a county resident’s Wells Fargo account in Arlington and Washington, D.C. and charged $678. CFS 13-118865
  • Between 8 a.m. on Nov. 6 and 5 p.m. on Nov. 14, a bank notified a county resident that someone had used their Visa Card to make purchases totaling $255.95. The transactions were made in New Jersey. CFS 13-119037
  • At 3:49 p.m. on Nov. 6, a county resident received a call from a male who said the Dominion Power account was overdue and the power would be disconnected unless the payment was made now. The victim was instructed to obtain a Money Pac in the amount of $415.00. The victim called Dominion to ask for an extension on the remaining balance and was told that the account was not delinquent and to notify the Sheriff’s Office. CFS 13-118613
  • Between 7 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 7 a.m. on Nov. 10, someone broke out the right door window on a 1994 Mazda B4000 parked in the 200 block of Woodfield Drive. Cost to replace it is $200. CFS 13-120111
  • Between 2:30 and 6 p.m. on Nov. 9, someone broke out the left front window of a blue Kia Optima in the 10800 block of Meadowlark Lane. The window is valued at $100. CFS 13-119825
  • Between 7 p.m. on Nov. 5 and 7 a.m. on Nov. 6, someone slashed the right rear tire of a green 2004 Toyota Camry and keyed the right rear side on the red 2004 Dodge Ram pickup in the 11200 block of Springfield Drive. Cost to replace the tire is $100. The cost to repair the Dodge truck is not known. CFS 13-118549
  • Between 11 p.m. on Nov. 12 and 3:20 a.m. on Nov. 13, someone threw several rocks through a side window of Fas-Mart, 2515 Salem Church Road. Entry was not made and the cost to replace it is estimated at $1,500. CFS 13-120904
  • Between 9 p.m. on Nov. 5 and 10 a.m. on Nov. 6, a county resident found a blue huffy Supra Mountain bicycle in a front yard in the 10900 block of Buckskin Lane.
