Police seek tips in beating of elderly man
Culpeper police continue to search for information leading to the arrest of two men who beat and robbed an elderly man at his McCoy Avenue home two years ago.
The 86-year old man answered his door about 9 p.m. on Oct. 21, 2011, after which the two unknown suspects forced their way inside and robbed the home, severely injuring the homeowner.
The man is still undergoing rehabilitation for his injuries, according to town public information officer Wally Bunker.
“For the last two years, we have been getting some information, but not enough to make an arrest,” said Lt. Andrew Terrill.
One of the two assailants is described as a white male in his 20s who is about 5 feet 9 or 5 feet 10 inches tall. The second man was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, according to Bunker.
“We believe someone out there possesses valuable information that will solve this crime,” said Terrill.
Crime Solvers is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
