Police: No robbery reported at North Stafford bank
A silent alarm set off a large police response to a bank in North Stafford late Friday morning, police said.
Sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy said deputies went to Wells Fargo at 131 Garrisonville Road about 11 a.m. in response to the alarm. Kennedy said police also got information that there was a suspicious person in the bank.
It turned out that nothing had happened and there was no suspicious person, but to be safe, police had people come out of the bank one at a time. After everyone was out, a police dog and the SWAT team went into the bank to make another check.
The bank reopened for business a short time later. It is not clear why the alarm went off.
