Convicted therapist dies in Richmond
Scott Gordon Henry, 67, a former licensed therapist serving a 13-year sentence for sex crimes against his juvenile and intellectually challenged patients, died Sunday at the VCU Medical Center. Larry Traylor, spokesman for the Virginia Department of Corrections, said the cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner’s office.
Gordon was sentenced in June to 52 years in prison, with all but 13 years suspended, on two counts two counts of aggravated sexual battery of a child under 13, one count of indecent liberties with a child under 15 and one count of aggravated sexual battery against a mentally incapacitated person. He was working as a licensed therapist with the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board’s Bowling Green office at the time of the crimes.
