Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of robbing three area stores in recent months.
Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy said relatively clear images of the man were captured from a surveillance camera in Raleigh, N.C., where a Game Stop was robbed recently. Detective Barry Surles obtained the pictures and authorities here have since determined that the same man robbed Sally’s Beauty Supply stores in Stafford on July 11 and in Spotsylvania on June 25. He is also suspected of robbing a Payless store in Spotsylvania within an hour of the Stafford robbery.
In the Stafford incident, a man entered the store in Washington Square in southern Stafford and pulled a handgun on two employees. He then took an undisclosed amount of money from the store safe and two cash drawers before leaving. A gold SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Equinox, was seen leaving the area.
The robber was described as being a little over 6 feet tall with dreadlocks and several gold teeth. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 658-4400 or Stafford Crime Solvers at 659-2020.
