A Fredericksburg man reported that he was threatened at knifepoint Wednesday by a stranger who’d come to see his roommate, police said.

The incident occurred at 8:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Dunmore Street, city police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said. The 57-year-old resident said that after he told the visitor that his roommate wasn’t home, he told the visitor to get off the porch.

That apparently angered the visitor, who pulled out a knife and threatened to kill the resident, police said. The knife-wielding man left after the resident told him he was calling police.

The visitor was described as a black male in his 30s, 6 feet tall and 190 pounds. He was bald and wearing blue shorts and a white T-shirt. Anyone with information is asked to call city police at 373-3122.
