Man sought in Fredericksburg road rage incident
By KEITH EPPS
Fredericksburg Police are looking for a man who they say scratched another’s man car with a knife and threatened him following a public altercation that started at a store in Central Park.
City police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said that altercation began when a 25-year-old city resident admittedly briefly blocked the entrance to the Wawa in Central Park about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.
That aggravated a man driving a red Chevrolet hatchback, who got out of his vehicle and had a verbal altercation with the other man in the parking lot.
The 25-year-old then left the Wawa and the other man followed him to the front of the nearby Regal Cinemas, where the other man got out of his car and confronted the victim a second time near a crosswalk leading to the theaters.
During the second dispute, the unknown man pulled a knife and threatened to kill the victim, police said. He then used the knife to scratch and damage the victim’s vehicle before leaving, police said.
The man with the knife is described as a white man in his early 20s, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 175 pounds. He was driving a red Chevrolet hatchback and had a cast on his right arm, Bledsoe said.
He was also with a young woman who did not get involved in the altercations.
Anyone with information about the man with the knife is asked to call city police at 373-3122.
