Woman flown to hospital after car crash
A woman was flown to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash Saturday in Culpeper County, according to Virginia State Police.
The accident occurred at 1 p.m. when an SUV heading southbound on U.S. 29 pulled out in front of a Toyota Celica going northbound, state police Sgt. F.L. Tyler said. The SUV was attempting to turn onto White Shop Road.
The vehicles overturned after impact, Tyler said. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
The driver of the SUV, Thomas Parinello II, 39, of Locust Grove was charged with reckless driving. The other driver, Leigh Lam, 22, of Rockingham County was flown to UVA Medical Center. It’s unclear if her injuries were life-threatening.
