A gunman got away with an undisclosed amount of cash after robbing a clerk at the Lake Arrowhead 7–Eleven in North Stafford Wednesday night, police said.

Stafford County Sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy said a robber wearing a black ski mask entered the store at 2337 Garrisonville Road about 10:40 p.m., pointed a large handgun at the clerk and demanded money.

The clerk, who was helping a customer at the time, handed over the money without hesitation.

Kennedy said the robber walked out, took off his mask and ran toward Arrowhead Drive.

Police surrounded the area and Deputy Alex Smith and his police dog, Vader, tracked a short distance to a gravel lot, where police said it was apparent that a vehicle had recently left at a high rate of speed.

Several witnesses inside the store and in the parking lot saw the robber, who is described as a black male about 6 feet tall and between 200 and 225 pounds. In addition to the mask, he was wearing a white T–shirt, tan cargo pants and orange shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 540/658-4400 or Crime Solvers at 540/659-2020.
