Man barricaded in Spotsy home
Spotsylvania authorities are negotiating a barricade situation near Gordon Road.
According to Capt. Jeff Pearce of the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office, an older man has refused to come out of his home on Gordon Road between Brown’s Farm and Brock roads since about 1:45 p.m. Saturday.
The man has made threats to law enforcement and other people in the area, Pearce said.
Sheriff’s Office negotiators are trying to work with the man, who he described as depressed and unhappy with life.
As of 12:45 a.m. Sunday, Pearce said the man has not responded to negotiations.
Residents said that law enforcement vehicles from at least Spotsylvania and Stafford counties, including an armored car and SWAT vehicle, were visible on Browns Farm Road, but did not appear to be blocking the road or any traffic.
More details as they become available.
