Motorcyclist killed in Louisa County on Sunday
A fatal crash in Louisa County on Sunday marked the 10th time a motorcyclist has been killed in the Fredericksburg region this year.
A 58-year-old Louisa County man was killed about 2:10 p.m. as a result of a collision with a sport utility vehicle in the 1600 block of Bumpass Road in Bumpass, Virginia State Police Trooper M. Kriz said.
The motorcycle struck the side of the SUV as it was pulling out of a driveway on the narrow road, Kriz said.
He said the motorcyclist died at the scene but he could not release his name because all relatives had not been reached.
With Sunday’s accident, eight people have been killed in seven motorcycle crashes in the Fredericksburg region since mid-June.
